A first fortified castle house was built in Eulenbroich between 1200-1500. The Staël von Holstein family, who lived in the moated castle until 1762, built the second castle complex with a manor house, stables for the cattle, apartments for the servants, an outer bailey and moats. In 2003 the Kulturverein Schloss Eulenbroich e.V. took over the management and use of the house. Nowadays, marriages are officially concluded in the former aristocratic residence and then celebrated in the castle, as well as art exhibitions, theater performances and literary discussions.
