The Barranco de la Luna route is one of the most spectacular routes that can be done in the Lecrín Valley and the province of Granada. It runs through a deep gorge carved out by water in the Barranco de la Luna, next to the town of Saleres. The throat will surprise you. It is short, about 700 m, but of great beauty. The river has carved a deep, narrow passage in the rock, with high rock walls on either side. Due to its depth and the fact that the walls are very close together, sunlight filters through the rocks with difficulty and the visual effect is magnificent.

This canyon is spectacular and unexpected. The hiking trail to the canyon is nothing special and first leads to a picnic area. From there it goes on to the river. As soon as you walk through the river and thus through the canyon, you can't stop being amazed. It's just beautiful. Steep rock walls left and right, large rocks that can easily be bypassed. The way is very well signposted.
