This mill was built in 1742. It originally stood on the Doodsberg in Schaffen. It was transferred to the Mierenberg d'Assent in 1887. It operated until 1953. Six years later, the city bought it and installed it on the ramparts. The mill is now part of the heritage of the provincial Halve Maan estate, which manages the monument and ensures that it remains operational, in collaboration with the A.S.B.L. "Levende Molens".
