Enjoy between trees, dunes and sea. This most beautiful and oldest nature reserve in Flanders can be found in the westernmost corner of Belgium, on the border with France. Come and enjoy the peace, romp in the foraging area and admire these beautiful dunes, which look different every season... De Panne is surrounded by the beach, dunes and beautiful natural landscapes. The 340 hectare Westhoek nature reserve is the oldest Flemish nature reserve (established in 1957). Beach, hiking and parade dunes, dune depressions, gray and white dunes, dune grasslands and limestone swamps bear witness to a lively landscape. The area is also known for its archaeological remains from the Iron Age to the early Middle Ages.
