The ship was built by the company "Segeldorf Krzysztof Kosiński" by order of the PTC (Polska Telefonia Cyfrowa). The entire hull of the ship was made in Plock. The ship designer is called Krzysztof Maćkowiak.

Since the summer of 2002, the Chopin ship has been one of the biggest attractions of the Masurian Lakes. The first port in Masuria was at the "Dom Pracy Twórczej" of the Polish Academy of Sciences in Wiersba. Since 2006 the ship has two ports in Mikolajki.
