At the time of the coal mines, a railway ran through this forest (Bois d'Angre). There have been plans for many years to convert this old railway into a tourist path and thus connect it to the French network of cycle paths. Nature associations want to avoid disturbing the great biological value of the forest at all times. The works were stopped in 2009 and in 2017 the asphalt of the cycle path still stops at the edge of the forest. (Ravel de la ligne 98A)
