In the Koblenz Rhine complex there is a monument erected in 1861 with a bronze bust of Schenkendorf and a sword and lyre in a wreath of flowers as a symbol of his purpose in life. Below this depiction are words by the poet Ernst Moritz Arndt dedicated to Schenkendorf: “He has from the Rhine. He sang mightily of the German country. That honor rose. Where it was heard” The original bust was destroyed in 2012. The replica was created in 2013 by Stefan Reckentäler from Montabaur; it was cast by Kai-Uwe Pelikan in Bendorf.

Max v. Schenkendorf was a German poet who was born in Tilsit (East Prussia) in 1783 and died in Koblenz in 1817. In the Koblenz Rhine complex there is a monument erected in 1861 with a bronze bust of Schenkendorf as well as a sword and lyre in a wreath of flowers as a symbol of his life's purpose. This monument was destroyed in 2012 and recreated in 2013.
