The Störwasserstraße is the 22-kilometer long connection from the Schweriner See to the Müritz-Elde waterway. It is composed of the sturgeon and the sturgeon channel. The sturgeon from Lake Schwerin flows, formerly very winding and with the years partially straightened, through the Störtal in the place Consrade over, right through Plate to Banzkow.
Around 1709, the former rift between Banzkow and downstream of the Klinker Bach was extended in a straight line. The Störzufluss has been derived and no longer used by the shipping. The new waterway towards Elde was named "Störkanal".
