This impressive castle ruin is called Stary Hrad or Starhrad and is located on a high hill that falls vertically into the Váh River at an altitude of 475 m above sea level. It is located near Strečno Castle, but on the opposite bank.
The castle is freely accessible.

Starý hrad is a castle ruin, rising east of Žilina, on the right bank of the Váh at an altitude of 475 m above sea level. m. It is located near Strečno Castle, but on the opposite bank of the river above the Domašínsky meander. In 2017, it was registered among the National Cultural Monuments of the Slovak Republic
