If there is one place where you can best enjoy the vastness of the Lüneburg Heath, then it is the Suhorn, next to Wilseder Berg.

At a height of 108 m there is a viewing hut from which you have a wide view over the Wümmetal with its heather fields. You can see juniper, forests and heather as far as the horizon. A breathtaking panorama in every season. When the heather is in bloom, this spot is of course very popular, but even in winter, when the heather has calmed down and the air is clear and cold, the place retains its magic.

The terminal moraine also forms a watershed. The Wümme flows westwards towards the Weser. The water from the east flows towards Luhe and Ilmenau to the Elbe.

You can watch birds, deer and cranes from up here. It is also very beautiful at sunset on the Suhorn, because the sun sets directly opposite.
