At 160.2 m, the Boltenberg is the second highest "mountain" in the Lüneburg Heath. It is nowhere near as crowded as its slightly higher brother - the Wilseder Berg - with 169.2 m the highest "mountain" here in the Lüneburg Heath. A beautiful trail leads up and down to the Boltenberg - it is worthwhile to bike here and enjoy the great view.

Although it is the second highest mountain in the heath, it remains relatively unknown compared to the popular Wilseder Berg. At 160.2 meters, the Bolterberg is only 9 meters higher than the Wilseder Berg, which is 1.2 kilometers away. From the Bolterberg there is a breathtaking view of the vast heath landscape and the Wilsdeder Berg. Nature can usually be enjoyed in peace, while the Wilseder Berg is visited by numerous tourists. From the Bolterberg you can also often see Heidschnuck sheep, which often roam directly over the summit, along the edge of the forest.
