The historic heart of Porto Maurizio is Parrasio, the most beautiful village in the entire valley. Despite having been long overlooked, it has experienced a slow revival in recent years: many of its noble palaces have regained their former splendor, although their interiors are not open to visitors. Two must-sees are the birthplace of Saint Leonard and, in particular, the Logge del Convento di Santa Chiara. Overlooking the sea, they are the coolest place in town in any season, thanks to a constant "chimney effect" that keeps them constantly ventilated.
