Anyone who has climbed the Auerhahn Pass and wants to do a few more meters in altitude has a great opportunity here. A beautiful paved road leads from the top of the pass 1.6 km and 125 m ascent to the Schalke Tower. On average this is approx. 8% gradient, but since it does not go evenly, the steepest ramps have well over 10%. At the top there is a great view of the West Harz from the Schalke Tower. The asphalt is ok, but not new, so you should take it easy on the descent.
