Tips
Warning cross as a sign of gratitude.
During World War II, on New Year's Eve 1944, after attending church services, about 70 bombs fell on Nachtsheim. Miraculously, no one was injured in the hail of bombs. Since the end of the war on May 1st, the faithful of the parish of Nachtsheim have been making a pilgrimage to Maria Martental out of gratitude for the wonderful rescue.
There is a map on the information board, on which red markers indicate the bomb hits.
The contemporary witness Karl Weber from Nachtsheim found the bomb splinters up here "Auf de Warth". They are on the front of the basalt stele.translated by
