In Engelskirchen-Bickenbach, on the banks of the Leppe, is the Oelchenshammer, one of the last water-powered blacksmith's hammers in the region. The historic hammer mill, whose upper ditch branches off from the Leppe, has a reservoir that ensures the water supply to drive the hammer. Both the older quarry stone building from 1795 and the half-timbered building added in 1816 have been preserved on the site. Two of the original four water wheels are still functional and now drive two blacksmith's hammers and a bellows. (Information from ChatGPT)
