In the middle of a light mixed forest between Roda and Glaubitz, a striking monument made of red granite rises, lined with slender spruce trees. The triangular shape refers to the symbol of those persecuted by the Nazi regime. This is where the remains of 65 concentration camp prisoners rest, who perished on their evacuation marches in the area around Glaubitz from the immense hardships or were murdered by guards.

It's a pity that the memorial is so inconspicuous and somewhat hidden.

The First and Second World Wars claimed many lives in Glaubitz.
On April 17, 1945, a column of concentration camp prisoners reached Glaubitz. Many prisoners escaped from an air raid while resting on the sports field. The prisoners recaptured by the Hitler Youth in the Glaubitz area were shot and buried in the Glaubitz Forest. A monument commemorates this today. On April 24, 1945, Hitler's army was defeated in this area.
