Blankenheim lies on the source of the Ahr. The source of the Ahr springs in a cellar of a half-timbered house from 1726. This place is sleepy and beautiful in the center of the village with historic houses, small, tasteful shops, bars and cafes.
After 89 km the Ahr flows into the beautiful Rhine near Sinzig, after the largest closed red wine-growing area.

The name "Ahr" comes from the Celtic vocabulary and means: source-water-stream-river
The Ahrtalwanderweg is idyllic and romantic. The bike path is definitely worth an experience!
