The mouth of the Rotenberg watercourse is now a bat roost.
In the mining era, the tunnel exits were called mouth holes.
It is part of the Upper Harz Water Shelf and is therefore part of the UNESCO World Heritage Site.
There is a nice place for a little break with a table and benches.

The Rotenberg watercourse is the first of five watercourses that were created to shorten the dam ditch. It is 770 m long. The 2200 m long section of the surface trench, which was abandoned as a result, can be hiked.
