The medieval town hall was the government headquarters of the Free Imperial City of Nördlingen and is still the heart of the civic city today.

The "Steinhaus zu Nördlingen" has been the town hall for over 600 years. A special feature is the outdoor staircase made of suevite stone, which was subsequently built by Wolfgang Walberger in 1618 - an art-historically significant building.
