“Remains of the Château du Crotoy
Built around 1150 by the Counts of Ponthieu. Dismantled in 1674.
In this fortress, Jehanne d'Arc was kept prisoner from November 21 to December 20, 1430. She was delivered to the English on December 8 and it was from here that she crossed the broad Bay of Somme on foot, supported by her courage and by her faith, she was taken to Rouen where the infamous pyre would become the throne of the humble shepherdess who saved France.
