In 1841 demolition of the town hall building and new construction while retaining the floor plan and partially using the old building fabric at the same place. During the new construction period, the administration was housed in Weinstraße 24. Use from 1842 for administration (upper floor) and storage of fire extinguishers (ground floor). After the construction of a fire extinguisher shed in 1857, it was used as the town hall and seat of the magistrate's court. In 1873 the magistrate's court was dissolved with the promise that the district court in Kempen would hold seven court days a year in the town hall in Wachtendonk (until 1945). In the meantime, town hall extension and conversion on the Mühlenstraße side (1963 by adding an adjacent building, 1979 and 2020 by an additional extension).
Today's administration building therefore consists of several building complexes. Despite the necessary construction measures to maintain the functionality of the administration, the town hall has retained its historical appearance. This is ensured by the classical plaster facade and the large crowning lantern on the pyramid roof. 1942 Delivery of the town hall bell for war purposes. 1998 Commissioning of the carillon in the town hall tower.
