Beckenham Place Park is the largest area of green space in Lewisham and is a much-loved public space for people living nearby. The park has London's first purpose-built swimming lake, numerous historic buildings and large areas of ancient woodland.

For local people the park is lovely. There was a great golf course with gorgeous woods around it. The golf course was closed and trees have been planted. The original owner of the land was a wood merchant and his old house is now being used by artist and hosts events for all the family through the summer. It is a lovely place to Walk through ancient woodlands and, the original owner had a massive lake that is being rebuilt. It will be magnificent. As a long walk lover, I still love it there. And being local, I can nip out for half an hour or spend a few hours wandering around. A fantastic place to take the family for a walk or a picnic.well worth seeing. It also has many slopes and when the snow was here, what was the 16th fairway as a golf course, was full of families sledging. Well worth a visit.
