Alden Biesen is a beautiful area to take a walk around, it is one of the largest castle domains in the Euregio where you will find two taverns downstairs and above where you can enjoy a snack and a drink, there is also a tourist meeting center that can be used free of charge. visits are.

The east wing of the castle was built first. The coat of arms of Grand Commander Winand van Breyl was placed above the entrance door to the bell tower, and above the smaller door that of his financial manager Nicolaes van Merwel, also pastor of Sint-Andries in Liège. The inside of the east wing is interesting because the original Renaissance cross windows and half-cross windows have been preserved. Bluestone from Vinalmont was used here. Numerous stonemason's marks are still visible. The hourglass motif on the door of the former chancellery could be identified as the mark of the Lechien stonemason family. The other facades in the courtyard are built in an early 18th century style.

Important renovations were carried out under Grand Commander Hendrik van Wassenaer van Warmond (1690-1709) and his successor von Schönborn (1709-1743). Van Wassenaer had the Renaissance windows cut out and replaced by the current so-called French windows. He had the north wing thoroughly renovated. His coat of arms and the year 1706 are above the door. The original arched gallery, a fragment of which is still visible, was bricked up. In the middle was a front house or entrance hall with a large room on the right and left. During the restoration, it was opted for one large space across the entire width. The tourist office is currently housed there. Van Wassenaer van Warmond had his apartment redecorated in the northeast wing around 1700. Next to the entrance door (with the bricked-up window), were his cabinet and bedroom, followed by the dining room or reception room. The wooden cladding with allegorical motifs and the chimney cladding in which the portrait of the Grand Commander was incorporated were saved from the dramatic fire of 1971. The restoration has already been partially completed.
