The 28 meter high Danzturm is freely accessible, as long as the restaurant in the neighboring building is open. If you have overcome the 100 steps to the outside observation deck, you overlook the city of Iserlohn and looks in good weather up to Dortmund, Unna and Hamm.

During our visits we always met very attentive and friendly staff .... with our selection of the menu we were always very satisfied ... great view of Iserlohn .... the tower was always open .... also For larger celebrations a good address with a great atmosphere ....

"... This lookout tower was built in 1909 and got its name in memory of the Iserlohn teacher Professor Ernst Danz. As a member of the Iserlohn Beautification Association, he was very concerned with the afforestation and maintenance of the Iserlohn city forest.
Today's restaurant was once an optical telegraph station. It was erected on Fröndenberg in 1832 and was number 43 on the Berlin - Koblenz route. The telegraph poles were equipped with movable crossbars and wooden arms, which, with a total of 4096 possible characters, could primarily transmit military messages via the route mentioned. The signaling device was destroyed by the insurgents during the revolutionary unrest on May 10, 1849; a replica has been in its original position since 1996 ... "
