Best Hikes to Concordiasee

Tips

  • The lake was created between 1955 and 1973 from a closed lignite mine in the "North" field of the 1958 closed briquette factory "Concordia" of the entrepreneur Carl Brendgen. Brown coal was mined here from 1902. The lake itself is a nature reserve. There are year-round protected spawning zones for amphibians as well as protection and resting zones for other animals that are not allowed to be entered. Fishing, swimming, diving and other water sports are not permitted. Source: Wikipedia
