    The Pöppinghauser Wald area is located directly on the banks of the Rhine-Herne Canal, which is loved by hikers/walkers and cyclists.

    Across the canal one can also see the beautiful Bladenhorst Castle, which is privately owned but often hosts dinner parties. Anyone interested in shipping can enjoy the sight of the nearby "Herner Meer" and the Herne-Ost lock on the Rhine-Herne Canal.
