The mill pavilion marks the time when mills were still significant landmarks in many places in the area. The Senftenberg official mill, which was modernized in 1544 as a grinding, cutting, oil, fulling and tampering mill was located at this point for several centuries. For the farmers from 17 places in the area there was a meal obligation. Also for the farmers from Bückgen, Rauno, Reppist, Sauo and Sorno, i.e. those villages that fell victim to the development of opencast mines in the Senftenberg coal district in the previous century.

The mill monument stands impressively at the harbor car park, but the story behind it remains hidden.
