"Because a church was never built despite permission, the people of Bramstedt commissioned a bell in 1450. The Bremen bell founder Ghert Klinghe made the bell on site," explained Mayor Zurmühlen.
In 1871 the entire center of Bramstedt and the belfry were destroyed by a major fire. In the mid-1980s, the tower was rebuilt according to historical templates with a lot of volunteer work, including by the technical relief organization in Bassum. “We Bramstedters are very proud of that. The tower is the symbol of the place”
