    Hiking

New tourist structure designed by architect Mario Botta, located where previously there was an ancient hotel from the early 1900s.
The orographic situation constitutes a small strip of flat land that overlooks the precipice of the northern side of the mountain, characterized by a large rock that descends towards the valley for approximately 3/400 metres. This particular condition suggested an octagonal building with individual "petals" enclosing a central space.
The result is a powerful and geometric building that dialogues, by contrast, with the organic flow of the surrounding landscape.

imposing structure, very beautiful but with a futuristic design that somewhat spoils the mountain landscape, it is a restaurant bar with also rooms for events and conferences

It is located at the foot of Mount Generoso and when the train arrived, we found it closed.

This route, typically taking 3 hours and 31 minutes, leads you from Italy into Switzerland and back, offering a unique international experience. You will follow ancient stone-paved paths and natural forest trails, winding through varied terrain. As you ascend, the distinctive "Fiore di Pietra" (Stone Flower) building, an octagonal structure by Mario Botta, becomes a prominent landmark. From the summit, you are rewarded with expansive 360-degree views stretching across Lake Lugano and the Po Valley.

To begin this hike, you can drive to Baita di Orimento, where parking is available at the trailhead.
