Story
The Landsberg post mile column is a distance column made in 1730 in the shape of an obelisk. It was placed on the market square in Landsberg because the postal routes from Leipzig to Hamburg and Berlin crossed here. After it was dismantled, it was walled up in a stable building and rediscovered in 1954. The original coat of arms was brought to the museum. Since 1989, a replica of the post mile column has been back at its former location in Landsberg.[3]
