Over time, the NABU local section Rodenbach has built nine (!) stork nests in the municipality, all of which have been nested by the same pairs of storks for several years. Signs along the hiking trail indicate for some of the nests how many young have been reared in recent years. Very interesting: In wetter and cooler years, more young are raised because the storks find more food for the young in the surrounding floodplain meadows. Just a joke: What is the most common name in Rodenbach? ... the stork Horst.

Here, directly on the Rodenbach stork hiking trail, there are nesting sites for a larger stork population in a small poplar forest!
