Salder Castle was built in 1608 in the Weser Renaissance style. After the end of World War II, it became the headquarters of the British occupation troops. It now houses the "Salder Castle Municipal Museum", which opened in 1962. The museum shows the history of Salzgitter and in particular that of ore mining.

Beautiful castle. Very well maintained. Museum is free to visit. But I still donated a little money because the museum is very good.
