Molen De Jager is a flour mill from 1850 on the Hikseweg in Oud-Vossemeer. It is a round stone mill with a radius of 18.50 meters.
Mill De Jager was built in 1850 by baker Kamhout and smith Wijnands. The story goes that the mill was founded out of anger against the miller of De Vos, the standard mill that stood on the other side of the village. This mill was demolished in 1928. The mill was restored between 1973 and 1975. After that, the mill ground wheat flour and wheat flour weekly for various bakers in the area.
In the years that followed, the mill continued to operate regularly. But after 2003 the mill came to a standstill again and things deteriorated rapidly. The mill was restored in 2010 and the new miller once again established a traditional milling company in the mill. Mill De Jager is the only mill on the island of Tholen that is being worked professionally again.
The mill and mill shop can be visited on Friday between 1:30 PM and 5:00 PM and on Saturday between 10 AM and 5 PM.
