Molen De Hoop is a corn mill from 1736 at the Oudelandsepoort in Tholen. It is a round stone tower mill with a flight of 23.60 meters. The mill is located on the water of the old city walls on a footpath.

In 1806, the city sold the mill to Arij de Hond and Johannis Bakker. After that, the mill had many owners until it was sold to the municipality again. The mill was inhabited until 1901. The many windows in the lower part still indicate this. Until 1948, milling was carried out commercially. The ten-sided tower is remarkable.

The mill is operational and can be visited every Saturday between 1:00 PM and 5:00 PM. Furthermore, the De Hoop mill can be visited when the mill is running and by appointment.

"De Hoop", built in 1736 to replace an even older post mill. Mill "De Hoop", built on the edge of this beautiful fortified town, turned out to be on an artificial elevation, a kind of mound. It is a round, stone, white-painted flour mill, type mill. And what a statement! The aim is to raise the blades even further to catch as much wind as possible. The scaffolding on which this mill stands is exceptionally high!
