In 1866 the wealthy Weber family came to Svendborg from Copenhagen. The head of the family was the trained businessman Theobald Christian Weber. In 1887 the family built Villa Tårnborg, which now houses a gallery. The villa was sold in 2008 and extensively renovated by the new owner.
