A very big highlight of the Franconian baroque. Particularly worth seeing: the large rosette above the west portal.

Important sights inside the church are:
The colorful window rosette on the west side of the nave with a diameter of almost eight meters. It is considered a continuation of the rose windows of the Notre Dame Cathedral in Paris. Due to severe weathering, the rosette was replaced in the 19th century by a copy that is true to the original. The original is in the Bavarian National Museum in Munich;
The front of the rococo organ from 1743 by J. Jh. Seuffert with carvings by A. Gutmann;
The choir stalls and the high altar from the years 1778/80.
Opening times of the monastery church: April 15 to October 31: 10 a.m. to 12 p.m. and 2 p.m. to 6 p.m., free admission, closed from November to March.

Founded in the 12th century, Ebrach Monastery is the oldest and most distinguished branch of the Cistercian Order in Franconia. According to Dehio, it follows the forms that can be seen in the Cistercian churches of Fossanova and Casamari, south of Rome, and which is said to have been "the greatest early Gothic building in Germany".
