The Belvedere Landscape Park forms the northern end of the outer green belt of Cologne. The Cologne fortifications once stood on the green belt until they were completely removed in the early 20th century.

On the outer fortress ring stood individual outworks that were not connected by walls. Rather, there were fields and pastures between the individual fortresses. Today, the green belt is planted exclusively for recreational purposes, open meadows and woodland alternate again and again.

The landscape park is always worth a visit. Although it is managed, the four towers at different heights always open up new views of the Cologne city skyline.

For me, the park serves as a nice connection between Müngersdorf and Vogelsang.

In 2014, the Belvedere Landscape Park closed the last gap in the outer green belt, which was created under Mayor Konrad Adenauer on the site of the former fortress ring in the 1920s. However, due to the Second World War, this section in the northwest remained open. When the area was to be converted into an industrial park, committed citizens campaigned for the completion of the green belt. As part of the Regionale 2010, the project was then realized with public funds.
The park is named after the neighboring Belvedere train station, the oldest surviving station building in Germany.
