At 3,150 m long, Kühlungsborn has one of the longest beach promenades in Germany; it ends on the western edge of the city in Kühlungsborn-West, the former Arendsee, at Baltic-Platz. The seaside resort's wide sandy beach, which lies in front of a coastal dune fortified with beach grass and the promenade, stretches for a distance of around six kilometers along the Baltic Sea coast.
