Bolmen is the largest lake in the western part of Småland in Sweden. It is located about 80 kilometers south of Jönköping.
The name Bolmen comes from Old Swedish (Swedish Fornsvenska) and is dated to 1689. At that time it was called “Bollmen Lacus”, which means “Big Lake” (Swedish: Storsjön).
