The Tillefonne is a church path to the Grote or Sint-Gertrudiskerk in Workum. The path was already called Tillefonne in 1560. The name is a combination of two separate words tille and fonne. In Frisian, these words mean small bridge and pasture for calves. The church path runs from the old Zuiderzeedijk northwest of Workum straight through the pastures over eight small bridges to Workum. There it ends at a side alley - the Tillefonnestege - of the Noard, near the Merk with the Sint-Gertrudiskerk.
