The Altendorfer Berg nature reserve lies east of Einbeck and covers approximately 100 hectares. It protects one of the largest and most biodiverse semi-dry grasslands in Lower Saxony. Juniper, dry scrub, and orchids grow on the calcareous dry grassland. Parts of it were already protected as a "juniper steppe" in 1959.

The "Altendorfer Berg" nature reserve covers approximately 100 hectares and lies east of the village of Einbeck in the district of Northeim. It is one of the largest and most species-rich semi-dry grasslands in Lower Saxony, interspersed with pioneer grasslands, dry scrubland, and calcareous scree slopes. The orchid-rich semi-dry grassland is interspersed with juniper. The dry grasslands are embedded within structurally diverse stands of trees and shrubs. The pearl grass-beech forest on the plateau forms the northern boundary of the dry grassland complex.
