The Kaiser-Friedrich-Turm is a 120-year-old observation tower that is slightly hidden in the Einbeck city forest on the Altendorfer Berg. Its namesake is Kaiser Friedrich, who ruled for only a few months in the year of the three emperors, 1888. Friedrich's birthday, October 18, 1900, was chosen for the inauguration of the tower.
The construction of the tower was suggested by the then mayor Grimsehl and the beautification association. They wanted to create an observation tower with the best panoramic view of Einbeck and the surrounding area, and construction work started in 1898. Thanks to many private donors and helpful companies, the project was successful and the tower could be completed.
In the spring of 2014, the association Kaiser-Friedrich-Turm Einbeck e.V. was founded and takes care of the preservation of the tower.
Unfortunately, the tower is currently not accessible, but is to be thoroughly renovated in the near future.
