The Bingen Mouse Tower is a former defense and watchtower. It is located on the Mouse Tower Island in the Rhine in front of the Bingen district of Bingerbrück. Together with Ehrenfels Castle on the right bank of the Rhine, the approximately 25 meter high tower used to serve as a customs post for the collection of Rhine tolls. The tower, built at the beginning of the 14th century to collect tolls (tolls), received its later popularly modified name as part of a legend.
