Starting point today: Beuthenfall ... from there over the Lichtenhain waterfall to the cowshed. The cowshed is a kind of small open cave where you actually used to hide your cattle. But don't go into history now ... 😬 Of course, the ascent via the Himmelsleiter shouldn't be missing, quite narrow, but very interesting. Once at the top you have a wonderful view over the forests of the Kirnitzschtal. Via stairs and ladders it went the other way around back down to the starting point. Nice tour and easy to commit.
You can also take the Kirnitzschtalbahn from Bad Schandau to the Lichtenhain waterfall and start your tour from there 😉

Today we took the ferry across the Elbe to the other side to Rathen to tackle the Bastei bridge. The plan is to explore the Bastei, the Schwedenlöcher and the Amselsee in a clockwise direction. In Rathen you go up to the left to the bastion ... after you have completed a few stairs and meters in altitude, you always have great vantage points over the wonderful Elbe valley and can see the Pfaffenstein, Lilienstein, Königstein Fortress and other great areas. A little further you are already on the Bastei bridge. Now, in autumn and before the Saxon holidays, it is more or less with the rush, but you are not alone either 😄 But in summer when everyone is on vacation it will certainly be too crowded. 😑
We continue to the beautiful view "Pavilion view" and then directly into the Schwedenlöcher, which we deliberately chose downwards. On about 875 steps we had no nerve at all. Past the Amselsee we went back to the Elbe ferry. 🥰

From Pfaffendorf you go up to the Pfaffenstein. Ascent over the eye of the needle is very interesting. Lots of steps with ladders and narrow crevices. Once at the top you have a great view over the Elbe valley, to Königstein fortress, Lilienstein etc ... The famous Barbarine should not be missing on the tour! From the Pfaffenstein we went over to the whisk with the large Dibshöhle. Then back to Pfaffendorf.

Lower Taunus area with gold mine and trout farm. Easy tour with unfortunately a lot of deforested forest. But great view of Frankfurt, Offenbach to Bavaria.

Today without pictures, didn't feel like it 🙄 The sport was in the foreground 🤔😂
Shortly along the Bavarian border, everything was fine over there on the other side of the Main 😆

Did a medium hike today with Sohnemann. The weather was very pleasant and not so busy in the mountain inn, so that you could go in without a reservation. A round of mini golf was a must at the end of the tour, my little one deserved it. 😄
