The holiday resort of Disentis, or Mustér as it is called in Romansh, lies at an altitude of 1,130 meters. Disentis's most famous highlight is the Benedictine monastery, founded around 720 AD.Nestled in the alpine landscape of the upper Surselva on the early Rhine, the village offers its guests numerous outdoor activities throughout the year. Romanesque culture shapes village life, and hospitality is a hallmark of the hotels and ustarias (restaurants). Disentis also has a lot to offer in terms of cuisine. The local specialty "Capuns Sursivans" is not to be missed.

Quaint little town in the Vorderrheintal, from which two rewarding road bike passes can be reached, the Lukmanier in the south and the Oberalp in the west.
