Col du Mollard, this cornering paradise should simply be mentioned separately. I have no idea how many hairpin bends there are, but there are a lot as you can see on the map. Beat by beat it goes up, gaining height. Unfortunately, you only have a brief view of the Maurienne valley at the beginning. Three things should be mentioned positively here: (1) in summer or in bad weather you are well protected by the forest (I drove up here in the rain, but I didn't notice much of it), (2) the gradient is relatively moderate and ( 3) nothing is going on. Pure tranquility and idyll. Asphalt is a little lousy. Therefore: better up than down.

Very nice climb to the Col de Mollard. Also possible as a variant to the Col de la Croix de Fer. Countless hairpin bends in the forest with manageable percentages. Hardly any cars drive on the side street.

On the departure of the Mollard just before the D926 to the Croix the Fer left about 5 km take the quiet D80a to Le Chalmieu and still enjoy a cup of coffee.
