It has been used several times during the Tour de France and is famous for its tight hairpins.

One of the highlights of the French Alps. With a length of just four kilometers and an altitude difference of 350 metres, this gem has a whopping 18 hairpin bends. A must for every lover of winding, slow and promising driving. Tip: Just don't lean on the shaky railing. That is there only pro formaaaaaaaaaaa….

Absolutely brilliant start, with us (September) the street was reserved for bikes only. A dream.
We then continued down to St. Jean de Maurienne and on the other side up to the Col de la Croix de Fer / Col du Glandon.

The Lacets de Montvernier are for me one of the highlights with the bike at all. Since I saw her, I wanted to come here. Unfortunately, when you drive them, you do not see much of their fascination and it's really hard to capture them in a photo. Definitely an absolute must. Definitely plan!

The dream uphill, as you can enjoy the view in every curve. Once at the top, continue the tour over the Madeleine. Top location. Better not go downhill.

That has to be driven with the road bike every time
October 16, 2019
Up in Montvernier there is a fountain to fill up the bottle.

There are also 20 Tornante up to Alta Prada on Lago di Garda. Then continue towards Monte Baldo. Unbelievably passable in both directions

The street is an absolute highlight. I can only recommend driving the road uphill, as you can enjoy even more here

With the many serpentines you can quickly lose track of things. In a very small space this road winds up the mountain.

Not steep and not long but fantastic to drive. The path continues until eventually Madeleine

The dream uphill, because you can enjoy the view in every corner, makes up for the effort

Famous climb to Montvernier. So much hairpins on so little space. "Lacets de Montvernier". Great climb towards for example the Col du Chaussy.
August 22, 2019
The famous laces of Montvernier; short but intense climb, to continue with the Col du Chaussy.

one of the most beautiful passes in the world - viewed from the outside ...

Wonderful climb with breathtaking views.
Alas there were works during my climb and I had to step down twice.
June 8, 2022
Do it up and down -fabulous both ways but not when I did it at 34°. So good I went back for a second climb!
June 27, 2022
blissful and epic climb with many hairpin bends

You can't see the spectacular road from a bicycle, but you shouldn't ignore this winding and lonely little road when you're in the vicinity.
