    Hiking

Almost hidden between the old houses of the small village you will find the baroque church of St. Pankratius. At almost 300 years old, the small church is one of the older churches in Münsterland.

If you are on the Westfälische Pilgerweg, you can also get a stamp here.

According to tradition, at the end of the 3rd / beginning of the 4th century under Emperor Diocletian, Saint Pankratius, to whom this Rinkeroder church is consecrated, was publicly executed for his Christian faith. The body of the martyr was buried on the Roman Via Aurelia - in the catacombs later named after him - under today's church "San Pancrazio". His feast day is on May 12th, he is one of the three so-called "ice saints" in popular piety, together with Servatius and Bonifatius (in some areas supplemented by "Cold Sophie" one day later).
