As far as I could research, the Schorfheide was added to the UNESCO list in 1990 and a network of hiking trails was designed accordingly, which includes 12 memorial stones and markers. This stone number 8 is from the list, which was added when the path was laid out. Unfortunately I could not find a more precise information. 🤷♂️👋
