In 1900 the Kärntner Sparkasse opened a “music hall building” - today's concert hall - and dedicated it to the Carinthian Music Association. The historicist building, built from 1898 to 1900 according to plans by Leopold Theyer, was almost completely destroyed in 1944, with the exception of one hall.
After the west wing was restored in 1947, the State Conservatory resumed teaching. In 1951, the restoration of the war damage was completed by a complete renovation of the building and the concert hall was able to reopen in 1952 with a concert by the Vienna Philharmonic.

A rather modern building surrounded by very beautiful old buildings, which, oddly enough, is a listed building. The building houses the Concert Hall, the Gustav Mahler Private University of Music, and the Carinthian Music Association.
